HOSPITAL SERVICES BUILDING
Kaiser Permanente Anaheim Medical Campus
The Hospital Services Building is the terminus of the hospital campus entry drive and functions as the drop off and check in point for both hospital and out patients. The building is surrounded by landscape on 3 sides: 2 courtyards and the western end of the 2-acre Healing Garden. The Honey Locust Tree Grove Courtyard is an outdoor space between the HSB lobby and the hospital dining room that is viewed from 4 levels of corridors wrapping the space on 3 sides. The North Courtyard offers a shady refuge from the extreme summer heat and buffers the HSB from views of the adjacent 6- level parking structure.
WHITIN DESIGN WORKS provided full design, construction document and construction observation services for the HSB over a 5 year period as part of the 27-acre Kaiser Permanente Campus. The landscape design was developed in concert with the overall campus landscape, incorporating related plant material, paving and site furniture.
